Anna Tyka

Anna Tyka was born in Kattowitz, Poland and was raised in a musical family. She graduated with honours from the F. Chopin Academy in Warsaw in the master class of Prof. K. Michalik, and while pursuing a solo career she continued her studies at the Academy of Music in Mannheim.

In the 90s she was a prize winner of numerous national and international competitions, including the first prize at the 1997 International Witold Lutoslawski Cello Competition in Warsaw. Since August 2000 Anna Tyka is the principal cellistof the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra. Next to her orchestral commitments she appears frequently as a soloist and chamber musician, and has performed in Poland, Austria, Italy, Russia and Japan. As well, she appears regularly on radio and television broadcasts.

Patrizio Mazolla

Patrizio Mazzola was born close to Genua, Italy. He received his musical education under Hubert Harry at the Lucerne conservatory, where he earned the Teacher's and Artist's Diplomas with honors. In addition, he was awarded the Edwin Fischer Memorial prize as well as the Art-Recognition prize of the City of Lucerne.

During his career Patrizio Mazzola has developed a wide repertoire, and next to his teaching activities at the Music academies of Berne an Lucerne he constantly performs as a soloist. He has appeared often at the Lucerne Festival and has collaborated regularly with diverse orchestras and conductors such as Rudolf Baumgartner, Jean-Luc Darbellay, Achim Fiedler, Howard Griffiths, Eduard Muri, Paul Sacher and Kaspar Zehnder. He has many CD recordings, including the 24 Preludes of Rachmaninoff and the 27 Etudes of Chopin.
